Post-weld integrated processing for castings: Weld grinding equipment that combines weld scar cleaning with robotic deburring

2026-10-08 views:39

After welding and machining of castings, not only are there weld slag and spatter at the welds, but the parting surfaces of the casting body also have a large amount of burrs. Traditional production is divided into two independent processes, occupying two pieces of equipment, resulting in low production flow efficiency. The weld grinding equipment integrates a robotic deburring function to achieve complete surface treatment with one-time loading and unloading of the workpiece

After the workpiece is loaded and secured, the robot first uses a high-power grinding head to complete weld grinding, removing weld scars and spatter. Then, it automatically switches to a flexible grinding spindle to perform deburring, cleaning edges and burrs around holes on the casting, thereby reducing positioning errors caused by secondary clamping of the workpiece

The complete weld grinding equipment is equipped with a force-controlled floating end effector, which automatically adjusts grinding pressure in response to variations in casting blank tolerances and weld excess, preventing localized over-cutting. The closed dust collection system simultaneously gathers grinding dust, improving the workshop environment. The equipment can operate continuously for 24 hours, producing consistent results far superior to manual labor

Suitable for mass processing of products such as construction machinery castings, valve bodies, and pump housings. It completes both weld grinding and robotic deburring in a single loading/unloading operation, reducing workpiece circulation time, minimizing manual transfer, enhancing the production rhythm of the entire production line, and helping factories lower overall production costs
